Azerbaijani Embassy in Turkey and the county’s Consulate General in Istanbul are finding out about the presence of Azerbaijanis among victims of the explosion in Istanbul, the diplomatic missions told Trend.
Azerbaijani diplomats are in touch with the law enforcement agencies of Turkey.
An explosion occurred in the central square of Istanbul, leaving people dead, the Turkish Milliyet newspaper wrote Jan. 12.
It is reported that the explosion occurred near the central mosque when tourists were passing.
According to some Turkish media, the explosion was committed by a suicide bomber. But there are no official statements about the incident.
