Significant changes may happen on the frozen Nagorno-Karabakh conflict between Armenia and Azerbaijan in 2016, AzVision.az reports citing Stratfor analytical center.
The center`s analysts believe that, at the expense of some concessions on security and economy, Russia requires an agreement from Armenia which aims to return occupied Nagorno Karabakh to Azerbaijan.
`Russia`s role in South Caucasus and Turkey will draw attention to this region. Because, these countries call to resist the influence of Russia to the region. In case failure of the peace talks on Karabakh conflict, military operations might strengthen. However, the liberation of the occupied territories in a diplomatic way Russian mediation is more convincing than start of large-scale military operations`, the reports say.
