Azerbaijan strengthens epidemiological supervision over swine flu threat
`No swine flue cases (H1N1) have been recorded in Azerbaijan, while the rest of the world is in panic of this virus.`
The level of seasonal influenza and other acute respiratory infections has not exceeded the average rate in the country, the press service of the Health Ministry told AzVision.az reports.

“However, as the epidemiological situation in bordering states is a real threat to Azerbaijan, opportunities and resources for the implementation of preventive, curative and anti-epidemic measures should be mobilized,” said the statement of the ministry.

According to the information, Health Minister Ogtay Shiraliyev has signed a relevant order on December 8, 2015: “Under the order, the minister gave instructions on strengthening supervision on strict compliance with the disinfection regime of severe acute respiratory diseases.”

The ministry has said the population plays an important role in combating flue.

“In these terms, people’s enlightenment is highly important. Swine flue is usually harder than seasonal flue. Transmitted through air-drop, Swine flue’s symptoms are: vomiting, diarrhea, severe headache, high temperature, difficulty in breathing, etc. While complication in seasonal flue occurs after 10-15 days, in this virus, complications manifest in the first 2-3 days. Internal organs, especially the lungs, get seriously damaged. The population is recommended to visit health medical facilities in case the symptoms are seen, to use protective masks, and to comply with hygienic rules. Citizens are recommended to avoid visiting countries where epidemiological situation is not satisfactory and gathering in crowded places”.
