Azerbaijan changes funeral rules of killed military servants
President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev has signed a decree on application of Law No. 39-VQD dated December 18, 2015 of the Republic of Azerbaijan "On making amendments to "Garrison and Guard Duty Charter of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Azerbaijan" approved by the Law No. 886 dated 23 September 1994 of the Republic of Azerbaijan.
Under the decree, the Cabinet of Ministers, in accordance with the first sentence of Article 350 of the “Garrison and Guard Duty Charter of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Azerbaijan”, shall determine the procedure for registration of military honored persons during the organization and holding of funerals, and inform the President.

According to the Article 1.7 of Annex 16 of the Charter, the Cabinet of Ministers shall specify the procedure for providing financial assistance to parents (close relatives or legal representatives) of military honored persons for organization of funerals and the amount of the assistance, and inform the president.

It shall develop proposals on the relevant executive authority stipulated by the Article 1.5 of Annex 16 of the Charter (in both cases), and submit to the president of Azerbaijan.

The Cabinet of Ministers shall also control the adjustment of normative legal acts of central executive bodies to the Law, and inform the president of Azerbaijan on its implementation within five months.
