Georgian and Turkish customs officers intensify cooperation
A delegation of the Revenue Service of the Georgian Ministry of Finance headed by Irakli Gvaramidze visited Turkey.

Antalya hosted the third meeting of representatives of the customs departments of the two countries.

At the meeting the sides expressed satisfaction with the cooperation, analyzed the infrastructure at the customs checkpoints on the Georgian-Turkish border and procedural issues, the Ministry of Finance told Trend September 22.

It was stressed that the Turkish government decided to start constructing the new infrastructure in the territory of Turkey soon because of the Sarpi checkpoint workload.

The sides also agreed to open a new Kartsakh-Childyr Aktash checkpoint by late 2015.

A joint committee was established to improve the institutionalization and the efficiency of cooperation between the customs of the two countries. The charter was signed at the meeting. This committee will enable to rapidly resolve the specific issues.
