Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev has met with the head of Administration of the President of Iran Mohammed Nahavandian in Davos.

Satisfaction with the current high level of dynamically developing bilateral relations in recent years between Azerbaijan and Iran was expressed at the meeting

Mohammed Nahavandian expressed greetings and good wishes of the President of Iran Hassan Rouhani to President Ilham Aliyev. The Head of State expressed his congratulations to the Iranian President and the people of Iran on the lifting of sanctions against Iran. Azerbaijani President said that it would contribute to a more rapid development of cooperation between our countries in all fields. President Ilham Aliyev also stressed that the Azerbaijani-Iranian relations not only serve the interests of our countries, but also contribute to the further strengthening of stability and security in the region.

Views on the implementation of joint projects were also exchanged during the meeting. The presence of opportunities for development of economic cooperation in the banking, transport and other sectors was noted at the meeting. Mohammad Nahavandian said that after the lifting of sanctions Azerbaijan and Iran taking advantage of this, can realize new projects with the participation of other countries to further expand cooperation.

At the meeting it was noted that the development of cooperation between Azerbaijan and Iran in the transport sector is of great importance for the region. There was also discussion of the feasibility of new projects in the field of industry, power plant construction, investment and other areas. The importance of consolidation of efforts against terrorism in terms of strengthening security and stability in the region was highlighted at the meeting.

President Ilham Aliyev expressed his gratitude for the greetings of Iranian President and asked to extend his greetings to President Hassan Rouhani.
