He mentioned that thanks to the attention and care of Azerbaijan’s leadership to the No military deaths from disease were recorded in Azerbaijan in 2015, Chief of the Medical Department of the Defense Ministry, Major General Natig Aliyev said in an interview to the newspaper “Azerbaycan ordusu” (Azerbaijani Army).
Armed Forces, the measures taken to improve the living conditions and food provision in the military units, as well as preventive health measures have minimized disease incidences among servicemen.
“Today, a modern military healthcare system in Azerbaijan allows successful implementation of the most severe heart surgeries in the Main Clinical Hospital. If in the previous years, about 30 military servicemen were annually being sent to Gulhane Military Medical Academy to undergo operations, now this is not necessary. It is the result of the attention the state pays to the development of military medicine that we are able to treat diseases once considered incurable,” said Aliyev.
