Japan decides to lift anti-Iran sanctions - Foreign Minister
The Japanese government has decided to lift economic sanctions against Iran, the country
The European Union, the United States and the United Nations lifted their sanctions against the Islamic Republic after the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) verified last Saturday that Tehran was complying with the nuclear agreement reached last summer.

"We want to further develop the traditionally friendly relations with Iran," Kishida said at a press conference on Friday, as quoted by Kyodo News.

Iran and six world powers — the United States, Russia, China, France, Britain, and Germany — signed a nuclear deal in July 2015. It guaranteed the peaceful nature of Iran`s nuclear program in exchange for sanctions relief.

On Monday, Japan’s Chief Cabinet Secretary Yoshihide Suga announced that Japan seeks to develop cooperation with Iran in line with the removal of economic sanctions introduced by the UN Security Council.
