The incident occurred in Sefakoy shooting range in Kucukcekmece, Istanbul, AzVision.az reports citing egazete.tv.
Aliyev went to the shooting range with his driver. After firing at the target several times, the diplomat shot himself. He died on the spot.
Kucukcekmece police office has launched an investigation to reveal the causes of suicide. His body was taken to the morgue of Istanbul Forensic Medicine Institute.
