French President Begins 3-Day India Visit
French President Francois Hollande touched down in India for a three-day visit on Sunday, greeted by Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi in the northern city of Chandigarh.
Indian broadcasters showed footage of Hollande being welcomed by Modi at the Rock Garden, then touring the Capitol Complex in Chandigarh, designed by a Swiss-French architect.

The Press Trust of India cited official sources disclosing that the two leaders plan to attend a forum of select CEOs and the India-France Business Summit before flying to New Delhi.

French and Indian defense officials have expressed hope that Hollande would sign a deal for the sale of 36 Rafale fighter aircraft to New Delhi, a deal negotiated for over three years.
