The event focused on discussion of significant contribution of main spheres reflected in the UNAPF document.
Deputy Minister of Economy and Industry Sevinj Hasanova noted that Azerbaijan’s economy has grown at an impressive pace over the last decade: “International organizations also witness it. This allows Azerbaijan extending cooperation with all international organizations take a new cooperation step. The next UN-Azerbaijan Partnership Framework (UNAPF) for 2016-2020 is also based on this development”.
UN Resident Coordinator/UNDP Resident Representative in the Republic of Azerbaijan Antonius Broek said that this document will develop Azerbaijan-UN relations, define future priorities, which include three spheres: “First of these sphere is economic development and increase of jobs in the country. Second sphere is a strengthening of the organizational potential and provide effective public and social services. The third sphere is management on environment, sustainability against natural and man-made disasters”.
The conference was attended by members of National Action Group on “Azerbaijan-2020: Outlook for the future” national concept, high-ranking officials, MPs, representatives of private sector and civil society, representations of the UN agencies.
