Magnitude 6.2 Earthquake Strikes Off Moroccan Coast
A 6.2 magnitude earthquake occurred on Monday in the Mediterranean Sea off the coast of Morocco, the US Geological Survey (USGS) said.
The quake strike near Morocco at 5:22 local time (4:00 GMT). The epicenter was located 60 miles north-east of the city of Al Hoceima in the northern part of the country at the depth of 10 kilometers (6.2 miles).

Information about neither the civilian damage or casualties was not immediately available.

According to the Richter scale, earthquakes with a magnitude of 6.0–6.9 are considered to be strong and can lead to casualties and cause damage to buildings and infrastructure up to hundreds of miles/kilometers from the epicenter.
