Azerbaijan boosts defense manufacturing
Compared to 2010, last year Azerbaijan increased the volume of overall production in defense industry by 3.1 times and manufacturing of defense products by 2.3 times, Defense Industry Minister Yaver Jamalov said Jan.25.
He made the remarks at the meeting dedicated to the outcomes of 2015.

According to the minister, the annual forecast for production of civil goods was fulfilled by 106.1 percent. Produced civil goods include gas masks, 12-gauge hunting rifles and their cartridges, batteries and flasks of different volumes, camouflage nets, DVB-T satellite decodes, multi-layer printed circuit boards, plastic containers, flooring products, various furniture sets, caterpillar bands, etc.

In accordance with the Production Program of 2015, practical-constructive works covering 81 themes and 143 stages meant for establishment were successfully continued in the ministry’s institutions. Practical-constructive works on 7 themes were fully completed. The manufacturing of 11 products was mastered, recommended for armament and serial production. A total of 45 stages on themes were completed.

The creation of night vision devices, prismatic binoculars with compasses, charges for mines, charges for grenade launchers, and different type of mine exploders was fully completed and their serial production was ensured. The practical-constructive works of the special-purpose sniper rifle, automatic cannon, special-purpose assault machinegun, etc. were continued.
