PACE autumn session to start today
Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Elmar Mammadyarov will deliver a speech at the session
The autumn session of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE) will kick off today in Strasbourg. The session will last till October 3, AzVision.az reports quoting official web-site of PACE.

On the first day of the session, PACE President will issue statements, then changes will be made to compositions of a number of committees. Reports on Activities of the Assembly`s Bureau and Standing Committee and Observation of the presidential election in Turkey will be also presented.

The Ukraine crisis, threats posed by the ‘Islamic State’ (IS) will be discussed on the first day.

On October 2, Azerbaijan’s Foreign Minister Elmar Mammadyarov will report to the Assembly on the latest activities of the Council of Europe’s executive body, the Committee of Ministers, and answer parliamentarians’ questions.

Election of judges to the European Court of Human Rights, the award of the second Vaclav Havel Human Rights Prize, monitoring reports on Georgia and Albania will be among highlights of PACE`s autumn session.

Chairman of International and Interparliamentary Relations Committee of the Azerbaijani Parliament, head of Azerbaijani delegation to the PACE Samad Seyidov and a group of MPs have already left for Strasbourg to attend the session. The delegation includes MPs Sevinj Fataliyeva, Rovshan Rzayev, Rafael Huseynov, Ganira Pashayeva, Sahiba Gafarova Fazil Mustafa and Sabir Hajiyev.
