“Azerbaijan needs large-scale privatization. Because, there are enterprises that don’t operate for 20 years, but have not been privatized”, Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev said at the conference dedicated to outcomes of the second year of implementation of the “State Program on socio-economic development of districts of the Republic of Azerbaijan in 2014-2018”.
According to him, a business-plan must be submitted about future operation of each privatized enterprise: “Business-plan, responsibility, obligation must be taken into account, or I don’t mean anyone will buy the enterprise but it will not operate again. We need a leading foreign consulting company. Because the privatization must transparent and ensure the interests of the state.”
