The president made the remarks at a meeting with a group of the country`s young people on the occasion of the 20th anniversary of the First Forum of Azerbaijani Youth.
Describing the past twenty years as a period of development and stability, President Aliyev underlined that Azerbaijan is represented in the UN Security Council with the support of 155 countries and continues implementing major energy projects.
“During this period, Azerbaijan has become a space country, carried out economic diversification, taken important steps for the development of science and education, built a strong army and a strong social policy,” he added.
The president stressed the need for serious economic reforms and said that coming years will be a period of innovations and technology will play a great role.
“We are establishing a strong, self-reliant state in Azerbaijan and this state must live forever,” he said.
