Provocation by Russian Defense Ministry-run TV channel against Azerbaijan
The fact that the Russian Defense Ministry-run Zvezda (Star) TV channel in one of its Jan. 28 reports presented the separatist regime created in Azerbaijani territories occupied by Armenia as the Nagorno-Karabakh Republic is regrettable and disturbing, Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry spokesman Hikmat Hajiyev told on Jan. 30.

According to him, the embassy of Azerbaijan in Russia will express its protest to the TV channel’s management and necessary actions will be taken to solve this issue.

The spokesman urged the Russian Defense Ministry-run Zvezda (Star) TV channel to avoid such actions in the future taking into account friendly relations and strategic partnership between Russia and Azerbaijan and the role of Russia as a co-chair country of the OSCE Minsk Group in the settlement of the Armenian-Azerbaijani conflict.

Bako Sahakyan was presented as the head of the Nagorno-Karabakh Republic - Artsakh, in the report dedicated to the 24th anniversary of the establishment of the Armenian Armed Forces, which was posted on the Zvezda TV channel’s website Jan. 28.

The report tells about the visit by Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan and head of the Nagorno-Karabakh separatist regime Bako Sahakyan to the Yerablur military pantheon.
