An earthquake measuring 5.6 on the Richter scale jolted 85 km E of Miyako, Japan at 05:31:48 GMT on Tuesday, the U.S. Geological Survey said.
The epicenter, with a depth of 17.48 km, was initially determined to be at 39.6666 degrees north latitude and 142.9534 degrees east longitude.
