UK never supplied weapons to any entity in Armenia
The United Kingdom strictly enforces the OSCE prohibition on sales of weapons to the parties to the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, the UK embassy in Azerbaijan said in a statement on Feb. 2.

Earlier, there were reports on social networks that the Armenian army is equipped with the French-made PGM Mini-Hecate .338 and British-made Arctic Warfare.338 LM.

“As such we have never supplied weapons to any entity in the Republic of Armenia. We are aware of only one case, in which two individual rifles were exported from the UK legitimately, and then re-exported by a third party to Armenia, without our knowledge or consent,” said the embassy.

The embassy added that it has no evidence to suggest that there is any large scale supply of prohibited British weapons to Armenia by any party. “If there is any hard evidence of British weapons being supplied to Armenia, this should be shared with the UK Government and we would investigate it immediately,” said the embassy.

Unsubstantiated speculation suggesting such weaponry is being supplied is damaging and unhelpful to the important UK-Azerbaijan relations, the embassy stressed.
