CIS summit kicks off in Minsk - L?VE
The CIS summit kicked off in Minsk, the capital of Belarus on Oct.10

The heads of the CIS countries have gathered at the Palace of Independence in Minsk, where the meeting will be held.

As it was expected, Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko didn’t come to Minsk to participate in the summit, so Ukrainian ambassador to Belarus Michael Ezhel will represent the country.

During the CIS summit, it is planned to discuss the development of the multilateral cooperation in economic, humanitarian and law enforcement spheres.

Several documents have been worked out for the meeting, which envisage the intensification of the multifaceted cooperation, strengthening of the international drug control system, fighting human trafficking, illegal migration and enhancing of financial control.

Following the events within CIS, it is planned to hold meetings in the format of Interstate Council of the Eurasian Economic Community and the Supreme Eurasian Economic Council.

The Interstate Council of the Eurasian Economic Community includes Russia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan.
