The boat was christened in honour of Azerbaijan`s famous opera and pop singer Muslim Magomayev.
The 70m-long Muslim Magomayev FCB will continue undergoing sea trials and after the successful completion of testing will sail to Baku, Azerbaijan.
The type DP2-class vessel will be operated by Caspian Marine Services to carry out fast crew transfers for 150 offshore workers to multiple installations in the Caspian Sea.
Muslim Magomayev is powered by four 2,880kW MTU engines each turning Hamilton HT 900 waterjets and is anticipated to reach a design speed of 36k, with an efficient service speed of 30k at full load.
Featuring a semi-SWATH hull design, along with active ride control, the new high-speed boat will allow operational efficiency over helicopter transfer for both passengers and cargo, while reducing stress on passengers.
The 200dwt and 16m-beam Muslim Magomayev can carry 150 passengers and 14 crew, as well as deck cargo in up to 40k winds and waters of 3m wave height. It is built with lightweight marine-grade aluminium.
Built to the DNV clean design notation, the vessel`s concept was carried out by Incat Crowther of Sydney and production engineering by Revolution Design (Incat Tasmania`s design team).
