Azerbaijan not to observe first solar eclipse of 2016
The first solar eclipse of 2016 will not be visible in Azerbaijan, Khidir Ismayilov, the deputy director on scientific research of ANAS Shamakhi Astrophysical Observatory, told.

He said the first solar eclipse of the year will occur on March 9 and will last from 3:30AM to 5:57AM.

“The full phase of the first solar eclipse of 2016 will be visible from the Earth’s equatorial areas. During this eclipse, the lunar shade will move over the Indian and Pacific Oceans, and will be seen in South-East Asia and the northeast of Australia. The natural phenomenon will create a spectacular view around the “morning star” in the sky. The Mercury and Venus will be conspicuous with their brightness,” he said.
