Some 500 People Evacuated as Fire Engulfs 35-Storey Building in Hong Kong
Some 500 people were evacuated and six received injuries as a massive blaze broke out at a 35-storey residential building in Hong Kong, local media reported Wednesday.
According to the South China Morning Post newspaper, the fire first occurred when the bamboo scaffolding around the building was set ablaze around the 23rd floor.

The fire was 80 meters in height and 50 meters in breadth, the media reported, citing Poon Wai-lun of the fire services department’s Kowloon Central division.

The authorities are still investigating the cause of the blaze, according to the paper.
