The foreigners granted refugee status and stateless persons in Azerbaijan will not be expelled from the country and visas will not be required on their return in the case of voluntary departure from the country.
In this regard, annexes and amendments will be made to the Articles #6, #15 and #16 of the Law of the Republic of Azerbaijan “On status of refugees and forcibly displaced (persons displaced within the country) persons”, the Azerbaijani Parliament told.
According to the amendment made to the Article #6, the foreigners granted status of refugee and stateless persons in Azerbaijan can leave the Republic of Azerbaijan with valid Travel document and come back to the Republic of Azerbaijan without a visa.
According to the amendment made to the Article #15, relevant executive authority can not pass a decision on expulsion of the foreigners granted refugee status, as well as the foreigners received political asylums in the Republic of Azerbaijan from the borders of the Republic of Azerbaijan.
According to the amendment made to the Article #16, the persons applied for refugee status, persons granted refugee status or the foreigners provided with political asylums and stateless persons are not required to obtain work permit.
The draft has been recommended to the parliament’s plenary session and will be discussed on October 17.
