SOCAR intends to buy gas from Gazprom, said the SOCAR President Rovnag Abdullayev, AzVision.az reports citing Interfax.
Abdullayev noted gas purchase from Russia may support Azerbaijan for increase of oil production: “Because, Azerbaijan uses large volume of gas to pump in the layers in order to increase the oil extraction. Now, we need additional gas to pump in the layers. We are working on it. We sent our proposal to Gazprom and waiting for a response. We will be pleased with any volume that Gazprom can sell to us. We can pump 3-4 bcm of gas in the layers. There is no problem with the prices”.
