Guerrillas blow up major oil pipeline in Colombia
The National Liberation Army (ELN) militant group blew up a section of the 200-mile long Transandino crude oil pipeline in Colombia owned by Ecopetrol petroleum, the company said Tuesday.
The explosion took place in the country`s western Narino Department, causing a fire and suspending the pipeline operations, according to the company.

The Transandino pipeline transfers some 85,000 barrels of oil to the Pacific Tumaco port daily.

The militants killed two policemen in Narino just several hours before the pipeline explosion.
