An earthquake measuring 5.8 on the Richter scale jolted 60km NNW of Visokoi Island, South Georgia and the South Sandwich Islands at 01:07:14 GMT on Thursday, the U.S. Geological Survey said.
The epicenter, with a depth of 119.26 km, was initially determined to be at 56.2123 degrees south latitude and 27.6226 degrees west longitude.
