Decision on joining Islamic anti-terror coalition
Making a decision on joining the Islamic anti-terror coalition in Syria is the sovereign right of Azerbaijan, Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said at a news conference on Thursday.
Asked about the statement made by Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Elmar Mammadyarov at a joint press conference with his Turkish counterpart Mevlut Cavusoglu in Baku “Azerbaijan’s participation in the Islamic anti-terror coalition is under discussion,” the spokeswoman said. “This issue is the sovereign right of Azerbaijan and depends on Azerbaijani authorities.”

As for Russia’s position on the newly-created collation, Zakharova said so far there has been a US-led coalition. “It is not known what the need for a new coalition is. The creation of a new coalition is the process for the sake of process,” she stressed.
