Iran, Azerbaijan agree on visa facilitation for Iranian citizens
Ten documents on cooperation between Iran and Azerbaijan are expected to be signed on Feb. 22, Iranian Minister of Communications and Information Technology of Iran, co-chairman of the Iran-Azerbaijan intergovernmental commission Mahmoud Vaezi told.
Vaezi said that these documents have been prepared to be signed as a result of the efforts of the intergovernmental commission.

He said that Azerbaijan does not cancel the visa regime for Iranian citizens, but in the course of discussions, the sides came to an agreement on facilitation of the visa regime, and it will be done.

“During President Ilham Aliyev’s visit to Iran, all the documents agreed will be signed, which will contribute to the development of relations between the two countries,” the minister added.

The people of both countries are interested in mutual visits, according to Vaezi. “The relations between Iran and Azerbaijan were not at the current level over the past 20 years and it is gratifying. The officials of the two countries held 55 meetings over the past two years,” he said.

Vaezi underlined that both presidents have played a great role in the development of relations between the two countries.

He said that the inter-governmental commission was created for the development of relations between the two countries.

The commission comprises committees on cargo transportation, energy, health, women’s affairs and the discussions in these committees produced good results, Vaezi concluded.
