According to him, several documents are expected to be signed during the visit.
“I hope more documents will be signed. In the coming days alone, three presidents from three different continents — the presidents of the Republic of Azerbaijan, the South African Republic, and Switzerland — will make a visit to Iran,” said Ansari, adding that these visits show Iran has reached a new milestone in international relations.
Answering a question about the Iranian defense minister’s visit to Russia, the spokesperson noted that this visit is indicative of constant exchange of ideas and close ties between the two countries. President Vladimir Putin’s special message to Hassan Rouhani has been already delivered to the Iranian president. Putin’s message was focused on bilateral ties and changes in the region.
“Relations between Iran and Russia are established at the highest level and the two countries negotiate issues of strengthening economic ties and Iran’s needs for modern weaponry. One such need is for the new generation S-300 anti-aircraft missile systems and efforts in this direction are underway,” said Ansari.
