Demand Justice for Khojaly: Genocide victims commemorated in Mexico City
As part of the "Justice for Khojaly" international awareness campaign, the Azerbaijani Embassy in the United Mexican States has held an event to commemorate the Khojaly genocide victims.
The event held in front of the Khojaly genocide monument in Mexico City was attended by students of the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM) and ANAHUAC University, members of the Azerbaijani community in Mexico, representatives of the Mexico City public, as well as scientific and cultural figures.

Delivering a keynote speech, Mehriban Samadova, Charge d`Affaires of the Azerbaijani embassy, spoke about the Armenian aggression against Azerbaijan, the details of the Khojaly genocide and the process of international recognition of this crime against humanity.

Tural Rahimov, first secretary of the Azerbaijani embassy, also addressed the commemorative event, regarding the events in Khojaly are a manifestation of Armenia’s policy of occupation and ethnic cleansing.

Then, the memory of the Khojaly genocide victims was honored with a moment of silence and the 16th century Tlakskoake church in Tlakskoake-Khojaly square rang its bells.

Expressing solidarity with Azerbaijan, Mexican students in T-shirts, with "Justice for Khojaly" written on them, released balloons with the same inscription into the sky.

Azerbaijan`s national anthem was played in the event, the participants posed for photos.
