Federal intelligence Germany carried out surveillance of British politician Catherine Ashton as the high representative of the Union for foreign Affairs and security policy, writes Spiegel.
Spiegel has learned that the intelligence services of Germany followed Catherine Ashton, when she held the office of high representative of the Union for foreign Affairs and security policy. The publication, citing its own sources in the government, reports that spying against Ashton was carried out since 2009 for several years.

In connection with such actions, the Federal intelligence service of Germany, the publication suggests that «the BND does not know boundaries in the process of wiretapping its allies».
