NKorean leader defiant in face of sanctions
With world set to crank up sanctions against North Korea, leader Kim Jong-un says arsenal of enemies `no more than a boiled pumpkin` compared to his own
North Korean leader Kim Jong-un appeared unfazed by international pressure over his country`s weapon ambitions Saturday, as state media reported that he had overseen the testing of a new anti-tank rocket.

Kim was particularly impressed by the laser-guided rocket`s "sniper" accuracy despite its incomparable range, according to Pyongyang`s KCNA news agency.

"Even the special armored tanks and cars of the enemies, which boast their high maneuverability and striking power, are no more than a boiled pumpkin before the anti-tank guided weapon," the report quoted the leader as claiming.

No date was provided for the test, but North Korea had threatened to reduce targets in South Korea and the United States to fire and ashes earlier in the week.

The North also accused the allies south of the inter-Korean border of declaring war on the peninsula by planning their largest ever joint military drills to date.

South Korea and the U.S. have been bolstering their united defense stance following North Korea`s long-range rocket launch and nuclear test this year -- which are set to be punished under strengthened United Nations sanctions.

Ratcheting up the tensions are reports claiming that Kim has demanded that his country`s new anti-tank weapon be deployed along the tense border with the South and in coastal areas.
