Azerbaijani deputy FM receives Indian ambassador
Stressing the importance of the development of parliamentary diplomacy, Khalafov praised the establishment of the India-Azerbaijan inter-parliamentary friendship group.
The deputy FM, underlining the development of cooperation in the energy sector, said the implementation of the North-South Transport Corridor will significantly contribute to the development of economic and trade ties.
He also informed about the East-West Transport Corridor that will further facilitate cargo transportation from Southeast Asia to Europe, as well as the Baku-Tbilisi-Kars railway to be commissioned soon, adding that the countries situated along the Silk Road show a special interest in the [BTK].
Ambassador Sanjay Rana, in turn, noted the importance of strengthening the legal framework for the further development of bilateral relations. He said work is underway on the development of draft agreements on a number of areas, expressing hope that the legal documents will be signed in the near future.
India support the North-South Transport Corridor and welcomes Azerbaijan’s efforts towards the acceleration of the implementation of the project, the diplomat said.
Later on, the sides signed a protocol “On exchange of the decrees of ratification of the Agreement signed between Azerbaijan and India on the legal and judicial assistance on property and trade issues.”
