”We laid the foundation of this project jointly with Azerbaijan. While signing this project, we showed that we are determined to do this”, the minister said.
Azerbaijani Energy Minister Natig Aliyev noted that the Southern Gas Corridor is a strategic project and the sides will their best for its realization: “If any of project delays, this will affect the Southern Gas Corridor. Over $45 bln will be invested in this project. Azerbaijani side see no problem in implementation of this project. The Southern Gas Corridor is important for Azerbaijan as well as Europe. The EU and US support this project. At today’s meeting, we discussed works carried out and to be carried out by every country”.
European Commission vice-president for energy union Maros Sefcovic said that despite the sharp decline in oil price, the countries implementing the Southern Gas Corridor will fulfil their commitments timely.
