President Ilham Aliyev issues decree on promotion of export of non-oil products
Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev has issued a decree on promotion of export of non-oil products.

According to the decree, development of the non-oil products is one of the factors for strengthening the economic potential of the country. Therefore, state programs executed recent years and measures in this sphere led to sustainable development of the non-oil sector, improvement of entrepreneurship, investing and launch of new jobs. Despite increase of GDP on the non-oil sector, share of export of non-oil products in total export was not so high.

According to the decree, depending on the local components produced in Azerbaijan and used in the production process, and share of value of the non-oil products, as well as sort those products, the state budget will pay money to persons engaging in export of the non-oil products for promotion.

The decree says the basic amount of the money to be paid for promotion will make 3% of customs value of exported goods provided in the customs declaration.

Agreeing with the President, the Cabinet of Ministers is to set the “Rules for payment of money to persons engaging in export of the non-oil products for promotion”, “List of non-oil products, to which export promotion will be applied, on commodity nomenclature of the foreign economic activity” and “Indices to be applied to the basic amount of the export promotion depending on type of the products” within a month.

Moreover, the Cabinet of Ministers is to provide taking into account the necessary funds for payment of money for promotion in the current state budget and state budget for 2017-2020.

The decree comes into force on March 1, 2016 and will be valid till December 31, 2020.
