Eight people administratively arrested in Nardaran
A measure of restraint in the form of administrative arrest was chosen against 8 people in the Nardaran township of Baku, Nardaran resident Hajiagha Nuri told on March 2.
He said that on the night of March 1, unknown persons painted the walls of the streets in Nardaran with religious slogans such as “Allahu Akbar”, “Ya Ali”.

According to him, the police launched investigation in connection with the incident and some people were detained.

“A group of Nardaran residents were summoned to the police station to be interrogated. Eight people who resisted the police officers during the detention were sentenced to 15-20 days of administrative arrest. 30 of the 32 detainees were released after giving testimonies. There no information about the two other detainees,” Hajiagha Nuri said.

He that high-ranking officials of the Baku City Main Police Office, Sabunchu District Police Office and chief of the police department #42 met with the elders of Nardaran in connection with the incident. “During the meeting, we strongly condemned the incident, calling this act a provocation. We also want the perpetrators to be identified as soon as possible,” he added.

The police station #42 dismissed reports on the detention of 32 people in Nardaran.
