`Resolution of Nagorno Karabakh conflict depends on Russia`
“The OSCE Minsk Group has been in deadlock for several years. The institutions has not achieved any progress in the solution of the conflict more than 20 years. It is possible to say that the above-mentioned group will never achieve any positive result. I support the people who do not believe in the efforts shown by the Minsk Group ”, Thierry Mariani said in his interview to Dailykarabakh.

The only way out of the conflict sides is to solve the problem by themselves through bilateral discussions.

No doubt that the settlement of the conflict depends on the will of the most powerful countries which has a trump card in the hands. Everyone knows of Armenia`s dependence on Russia in political, economic and security matters. That is, I think that the truth cannot be concealed.

If Moscow wants to solve the problem, a shift would very likely have been observed in the process. Above all, one should mention the return of the border regions with Karabakh. But a solution of the Karabakh problem depends on the further developments. That`s a very difficult question. Of course, the return of the seven border regions may also be a certain shift. In a word, all the tools are in the hands of Russia, and this issue is up to Moscow".

The MP said, Azerbaijan can play a role of a bridge between Iran, Russia and Turkey. "Azerbaijan has a very big chance for cooperation with these countries in all fields.

In this regard Nagorno-Karabakh conflict must be solved fairly. The truce can be achieved when Armenia returns occupied Azerbaijani territories, and when justice is restored. This will also reduce the military attempts between Armenia and Azerbaijan and allow the governments to put the funds allocated for defense in the Civil Sphere.

So, you first need to restore peace. When it comes to the cooperation between Armenia and Azerbaijan, it is clear that this process can begin only after the resolution of the conflict, " - said Thierry Mariani.
