Azerbaijan continues measures to eliminate consequences of offshore platform accident
The Ministry of Emergency Situations of Azerbaijan continues measures to eliminate the consequences of the accident that occurred on 4 December 2015 on the platform No. 10 of the country
From the first day of the accident, the ministry’s relevant forces, including aircraft and helicopters have been conducting intensive search for the oil workers missing in the accident, the statement said.

At the moment, there has been a transition from the active phase of the search operations, conducted with the wide involvement of forces and means, into the observational-and-search phase, according to the statement.

In connection with the accident and the search for missing oil workers, Azerbaijan’s Ministry of Emergency Situations and the State Marine Administration are in constant contacts with the relevant government agencies of the Caspian littoral states and ships sailing in the Caspian Sea, the statement said.

In addition, the relevant forces of the ministry’s State Water Rescue Service and Special Risk Rescue Service and the helicopters of the aviation group are regularly conducting observational-and-search measures along the coast. In case of detection of any object related to the missing oil workers, necessary measures are taken immediately, and all the above-mentioned work is coordinated by the ministry’s Crisis Management Center, said the statement.
