Kazakh parliament ratifies document on protection of Caspian environment
The Kazakh Senate (upper house of the Parliament) has ratified the Protocol on Regional Preparedness, Response and Cooperation in case of pollution to the Framework Convention for the Protection of the Marine Environment of the Caspian Sea, Novosti-Kazakhstan reported.
The protocol aims at ensuring individual and joint actions during oil spills.

The protocol was signed by Azerbaijan, Iran, Kazakhstan and Russia in Aktau in 2011.
