Georgia-Azerbaijan relations of special importance in South Caucasus
Relations between Georgia and Azerbaijan are of special importance in the South Caucasus region, said David Usupashvili, speaker of Georgia
He made the remarks March 7 during a meeting with journalists accredited in the Georgian parliament.

Relations between the two countries are very important, the speaker said. “Recently, I have visited Japan. During the meetings I had in Japan, I highlighted that the strategic partnership between Georgia and Azerbaijan has no equivalent,” he added.

Usupashvili said that the memorandum signed between Georgia and Azerbaijan on transportation of natural gas is of great importance.

“As strategic partners, the two countries are very well aware of each other. We come to an agreement not only in the energy sector, but also in other important areas,” he noted.
