Elsever Agayev further expressed his country’s interest in cooperation with Tehran in health sector. In turn, Dinarvand who is also the head of Iran’s Food and Drug Administration said that his visit to Baku takes place in line with a memorandum of understanding (MoU) on cooperation in health sector signed between Tehran and Baku during Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev’s visit to Iran in February. Iranian Ambassador to Baku Mohsen Pak Ayeen also attended the meeting.
Back in February, addressing a Press Conference in Baku, Pak Ayeen said Iran and Azerbaijan have signed a MoU to establish a pharmaceutical factory in Azerbaijan’s Sumgait City.
Media reports have suggested that Pharma Chemie, an Iranian pharmaceutical company, is expected to be involved in the project. On Feb. 23 President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev concluded his official visit to Iran which took place on the invitation of President Hassan Rouhani. The high level official visit resulted in conclusion of over 10 documents covering various areas of cooperation between Tehran and Baku.
