The prices for AZERI LT oil dropped by 1.21 percent or $2.92 and amounted to $40.24 a barrel.
The US NYMEX crude price rose by $0.50 to become $38.34 a barrel.
Brent crude went up by $0.49 to close at $40.54 a barrel.
