Czech-Azerbaijan political relations at high level
Political relations between the Czech Republic and Azerbaijan stand at a high level, but there is a need for further development of economic ties between the two countries, Jan Hamacek, Chairman of the House of Deputies of the Czech parliament, told reporters in Baku March 14.
Azerbaijan is one of the main suppliers of oil to the Czech Republic, Hamacek said, noting that his country is ready to compensate for its trade deficit at the expense of certain products, such as machinery and industrial goods.

“We can develop cooperation in the sphere of construction of railway lines in Azerbaijan,” he added.

Referring to his meeting with the Azerbaijani president, Hamacek said the strategic partnership between the Czech Republic and Azerbaijan was praised during the talks. “I also informed the Azerbaijani president of our desire to strengthen inter-parliamentary ties between the two countries,” he said.
