Georgian PM signs decree on resignation of ministers
Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili officially signed a decree Nov. 7 on resignation of foreign minister, Maia Panjikidze, and the state minister on European and Euro-Atlantic integration, Alexi Petriashvili, RIA Novosti reported.

Panjikidze and Petriashvili announced about their resignation after Garibashvili sacked the Defense Minister Irakli Alasania on Nov. 4.

The decree on Alasania’s dismissal was signed by the PM on the same day.

Maia Panjikidze is the sister of Alasania’s wife, and Petriashvili is a member of the ex-defense minister’s party ‘Our Georgia - Free Democrats’.

Shortly after all the resignations, the party said it left the ruling coalition ‘Georgian Dream’.

“Under article 79, paragraph 5 of the Georgian constitution, Maia Panjikidze is dismissed as the foreign minister,” Garibashvili’s decree said.

The same decree was issued in respect of Petriashvili.
