Beijing expresses concern over sunken Chinese boat in Argentina
China is greatly concerned over the incident with a Chinese fishing vessel, which has been sent to the bottom by Argentinian coast guards, Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman Lu Kang said Wednesday.
Earlier in the day, Argentinian coast guards used gunfire to sink the Chinese shipping boat that was illegally fishing in the economic zone of the Latin American nation. All four fishermen were rescued and would appear before the Argentinian court.

"China`s State Council has paid close attention to this and issued an important decree, the Foreign Ministry and the Chinese Embassy in Argentina has announced demarche to the Argentine side, expressing serious concern, demanding a thorough check," Lu said at a daily briefing.

According to the Chinese spokesman, Beijing urged Buenor Aires to take into account legitimate rights and interests of the ship’s crew, as well as take the necessary measures to prevent such incidents in the future.
