German Foreign Ministry: Nagorno-Karabakh is an integral part of Azerbaijan in terms of international law
The “self-defense forces” of the so-called “Nagorno-Karabakh Republic” have 23,000 soldiers, 8 000 members of which are servicemen of the Armenian Armed Forces

An article titled “Clashes over Nagorno-Karabakh” has been posted on the website of the German Bundestag, AzVision.az reports quoting AzerTAc.

The article says that violations of the ceasefire during the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict have escalated since early 2014.

It is said that the Foreign Affairs Ministry has responded to the query addressed by the Left-wing fraction of Bundestag to the Federal Government.

The response #18/2816 of the Federal Government to the query #18/2728 addressed by the Left-wing fraction says: “Nagorno-Karabakh is an integral part of Azerbaijan in terms of international law; however, it is under control of the Armenian Armed Forces.”

It is also said in the letter of response that the firefights on the line of contact has escalated to a maximum in late July and early August and then de-escalated. Snipers, submachine guns, as well as other infantry weapons were most used during the firefights.

According to the Federal Government, the “self-defense forces” of “Nagorno-Karabakh Republic” have 23,000 soldiers, 8000 members of which are servicemen of the Armenian Armed Forces.
