A number of well-known prisoners have been released following the order signed by Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev.
Among the released are Tofig Yagublu, Yadigar Sadigov, Rasul Jafarov, Rashadat Akhundov, Akif Muradverdiyev, Anar Mammadli, Siraj Karimli, Nemet Panahli, Parviz Hashimli, Hilal Mammadov, Taleh Khasmammadov, and others.
The Azerbaijani President signed an order on March 17 pardoning 148 people.
Under the order, 137 people, sentenced to imprisonment, have been freed from serving the remainder of the prison term.
Moreover, six people were freed from the remainder of the correctional labor and five people were freed from the penalty in the form of a fine.
