`You proved that...` - Letter of gratitude to President by Human Rights Defenders
The Monitoring Group of Human Rights Organizations of Azerbaijan sent a letter of gratitude to the President Ilham Aliyev, AzVision.az reports.

The letters says that the human rights defenders congratulate the head of the State on the occasion of upcoming Novruz holiday.

`You highly appreciated our work by signing the pardon decree and 14 people have been released in regards with the decree .`

The release of journalist Rauf Mirgadirov by the Court of Appeal made all human rights defenders happy.

`You prove that each person has life guarantee by signing the pardon decree, which stems from humanism`, the letter emphasizes.

`Regardless of suspension of the Joint Working Group on Human Right`s activity and calling back its representative by the European Council, the Joint Working Group continues its activity and contributes to the constructive dialogue between state bodies and civil society with your decisive support. Your step proved the international community and several influential Western organizations that Azerbaijan is able to solve its internal problems and external interferences are totally unacceptable. More than 80 complaints have been resolved with the initiatives of the Working Group in a short span of time . We do hope that the Joint Working Group will contribute to the solution of the community`s problems`.

The letter was signed by Novella Jafaroglu, the chairperson of the Dilara Aliyeva Society for Women`s Rights, Saadat Bananyarli, the Chairperson of the National Council of Human Rights Council and Saida Gojamanli, the chairperson of the Bureau for the Protection of Human Rights and Rule of Law.
