The number of passengers increased by ten percent in 2015 compared to previous years and was 10,707 people, he said.
“The volume of transit cargos transshipped by the port’s main cargo terminal was 46 percent of the total freight traffic in 2015, and this figure was two percent in 2014,” said Ziyadov.
Currently, some 85 percent of cargos are transit cargos, he noted adding that if the port transshipped over three million tons of cargo in 2015, it is expected that the transshipment volume will be more than six million tons in 2016.
Ziyadov added that as a result of the port’s work, the country’s state budget received over 4 million manats additionally, which showcases the development of Azerbaijan’s non-oil sector.
